Vertical Roll opens with Jonas’s outstretched hand loba negra epub filling the screen. As the image scrolls, she gives her hand a flip and, in perfect sync, we hear a percussive sound that persists throughout the work, as parts of Jonas’s body come in and out of view. With her torso gyrating, Jonas becomes a mysterious seductress caught in a tight space. Attired in either a satin, boudoir-like robe or a belly dancer’s clothes, she never reveals her full figure, moving away from closeup and into another space, as her legs are shown jumping up and down. At one point she comes forward and gazes out enticingly from behind a Noh theatre mask.

The phone that ignited this debate is something of an absurdity. Its unique selling point is that it does nothing but ring people, text people and wake you up, yet it costs a small fortune. One of the foremost attributes of a dumbphone is that it doesn’t matter much if you drop it in a puddle or render it up to a thug at knifepoint, whereas the Punkt is a design accessory. I was expecting to dislike it on these grounds, but strangely I didn’t, because despite its paucity of features it is both peculiar and appealing. Photograph: DACS/Courtesy Electronic Arts Intermix, New YorkThis skilfully choreographed work is based on an irritating flaw common to early black-and-white TVs: the image would often scroll nonstop from the bottom to the top of the screen, or vice versa, stabilised only by a turn of a knob.

Operators of a north-east Ohio bridal shop linked to an Ebola survivor say the store is closing because it lost significant business and has been stigmatized.
Dallas nurse Amber Vinson was diagnosed with Ebola days after visiting Coming Attractions Bridal & Formal store in Akron in October. The store temporarily closed and cleaned before reopening in November, but business hasn’t bounced back.
“We had a big opening and we had hoped that the publicity may even have been a good thing,” owner Anna Younker told the Northeast Ohio Media Group. “But now we are the Ebola shop. Customers are tired of hearing ‘Oh, you bought it at the Ebola shop.'”
Owner Anna Younker said her shop has become known as the Ebola store. She told the Akron Beacon Journal the temporary closure and canceled orders cost the store at least $100,000. That wasn’t covered by her insurance because it excludes viral illnesses.

The site, known to be the most hazardous industrial facility in Europe, dates back to the dawn of the nuclear age. This is where British scientists rushed to develop nuclear weapons during the cold war. The opening here of the world’s first nuclear power station in 1956 was billed as the start of a “new atomic age”.

He made his first video in 1988. Called 30×30, the tape shows the artist’s hands in closeup. Wearing a pair of latex gloves – a reference to the country’s filthy standards of communal living and its then rampant hepatitis, which the artist had recently caught – Peili holds a 30x30cm mirror. He drops it, then meticulously glues the shards back together. After dropping the mirror a second time, reassembly is more difficult. The entire procedure takes about three hours.

It was outsourced in recent years to a US-led consortium, whose performance was sharply criticised. Management has since returned to the public sector under the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, but that has not stemmed criticism from MPs, who complained in October that Sellafield was nearly £1bn over budget and years behind on projects. The public accounts committee found signs of progress, however, and some are evident.

Allen’s relationship with the city goes back to 2004 when he premiered Melinda & Melinda at the city’s film festival. Allen was back in 2008 for the screening of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which then became an inspiration for local and regional powers keen to promote the city and region.

Tony Lywood, Labour’s prospective parliamentary candidate for Copeland, said even with no job losses, the end of reprocessing was a “disaster” for the area because of the changing nature of the work. He also opposes plans to see more future jobs in the private sector supply chain.
